Program Description

Event Details

Come to the library to learn about novelist and naturalist Gene Stratton-Porter, who led a movement for the conservation of wetlands in Indiana, including her beloved Limberlost Swamp. Presenter Cathy Reed Weber will be discussing the author’s love for nature, her career as a writer, and her efforts to rehabilitate the Indiana wetlands she so loved. We will also include updates on what is happening to these areas today.

Cathy Reed Weber is a garden enthusiast who loves to share her knowledge with others. A writer since she was old enough to hold a pencil, Cathy has enjoyed an interesting career as a teacher, journalist, editor, and marketing/grant writer. Currently she works freelance and is editor of The Garden Club of Indiana, Inc.'s Indiana Gardens. She also serves as TGCI's Birds & Butterfly Chair. She really doesn't have spare time, but she loves to read.
